MY STORY…

Hi, I am Kathryn Fitzgerald!

Whoever you are and whatever journey you are on, I am passionate about helping you find hope in the middle of life’s greatest challenges. In 15 years of experience working intimately with individuals and families in daily life and in crisis situations, I have developed a genuine love of equipping people with the skills and support that they need in order to set goals and be empowered to reach them.

In 2010, I began working with high needs children when I was hired as an overnight youth counselor at a residential home for boys in Oregon. It was there where I first really discovered my heart for the kids and families struggling with behavioral and attachment concerns. Soon after, I connected with a network of therapists who trained me and incorporated me into service for their families as an attachment and trauma informed “Therapeutic nanny and respite provider.”

In traveling from home to home around the country, I worked closely with families of all kinds, to help them incorporate the skills their therapists were teaching them and coach each member of the family system in self regulation, co-regulation, boundaries, empathy, and how to de-escalate potentially dangerous situations. I then opened my home a respite provider, offering rest to exhausted and well deserving parents, while giving children and teens a safe and consistent home environment that supported their healing journey. During our time together, my “kiddos” were able to work with their therapists to process through some of their greatest struggles and have one-on-one support as they put those skills into action. I developed a love for supporting kids and families facing aggression, fear, reactivity, and other high risk behaviors brought on from childhood trauma, Reactive Attachment (and other attachment trauma concerns), developmental disabilities, experience in the foster/adoptive system, neurodiversity, along with other neurological development and sensory struggles.

I adopted my own bouncing baby 12 year old daughter in 2014, and married my incredible husband in 2016. I am now a mother to another 2 children and we continued serving families with respite care until 2021, when life circumstances sent us into a different direction. Despite the necessary changes, I was determined to keep serving the families I had treasured for so long. That is when I was hired on with Fircrest Behavioral Health in Vancouver, WA, and began my adventure in supporting individual nervous systems and family systems through Neurofeedback, Brainspotting, Grief Education, and coaching parents and care-givers! Now, in 2026, I am blessed to be in private practice, as a homeschooling and working mom, caretaker to beloved family members, along with providing creative services and grief education to individuals and families just like you!

A Little More About Me…

When I’m not working with other families, I can be found on a spontaneous adventure, serving in missions, or taking day trips to the coast with my wonderful husband, 3 children, and a van full of our closest friends. I have, on occasion, even been known to dress up like a pirate or a Disney villain at local events! I find great joy in my pastime as an accomplished artist; painting murals, painting windows, illustrating books, and working in graphic design and theater. If you see me out in the community, please feel free to say hi!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Do we have to be in the same state for coaching services?

No, currently coaching is not a regulated field in the same way that therapy is. There is no state license or boarders. I can and love to work with individuals and families across the United states and around the world. I do have online or in person options based on availability and extent of services needed.

Are your coaching services covered by insurance? If not, do you have a sliding scale?

Insurance does not cover life coaching. I do offer a sliding scale and scholarship options for anyone who asks! Don’t let financial hardship be what keeps you from getting the support you need. Ask me about a Scholarship/ Discount application during our consultation.

What is your cancellation policy for Coaching sessions?

Accidents happen, kids have rough days, and any number of unfortunate changes could come your way. I ask for clear communication and can be flexible most of the time. Clients who cancel within 24 hours or do not show are responsible for 50% of their session rate.

Can I see you if we know each other personally?

This is a decision I choose to leave with you, the client. I am under no ethical or moral obligation to stay separate from family and friends in the same way as therapy, and your services with me are treated with HIPAA level of privacy and safety. I will always communicate boundaries with you as soon as connections are made. That said, if you do not feel comfortable with receiving services where you may be put in a position to be vulnerable with me in a way that goes beyond our acquaintance, then I absolutely respect that and will be happy to refer out to another provider!
